Pipeline Operations
The Tazama pipeline, spanning 1,710 kilometers from Dar Es Salaam to Ndola, is undergoing a conversion to enhance its efficiency and capacity. Currently, the pipeline operates as a tight-line system with no intermediate storage, consisting of 954 kilometers of 8-inch and 798 kilometers of 12-inch diameter sections. With a tank farm, seven pumping/booster stations, and one terminal supporting the system, the pipeline’s conversion aims to increase its annual throughput from the current 800,000 metric tons to reach its full installed capacity of 1.1 million metric tons per annum.
Pumping commences from our Tank Farm to our initial pumping station at Kigamboni Tanzania up to the boarder at Nakonde through Morogoro, Elphons Pass, Iringa and Mbeya Stations
In Zambia, it continues through Chinsali, Mpika, Serenje and then onwards through Mkushi before finally reaching Ndola Fuel Terminal.
